About EDP Lisbon Marathon
A coastal marathon from the Atlantic beaches of Carcavelos to a finish in Praça do Comércio, in Lisbon's historic center.
The Lisbon Marathon starts in Carcavelos, follows the coast and the Tagus past Belém, and finishes in the huge yellow square of Praça do Comércio. A half marathon and an 8.5 km race run the same weekend. The practical catch is the early start and the autumn heat, so pack a hat.
Know before you go
- Collect your bib at the Sport Expo before race day, as none are given out on the day.
- October can still be hot in Portugal, so bring a hat.
- Lisbon airport (LIS) is a short metro ride from the center, and the Carcavelos start is reached by the coastal railway.
