- Route: The course starts at Fori Imperiali, passes Piazza Venezia and the Vittoriano, skims the Circo Massimo, then runs along Lungotevere past Castel Sant'Angelo, viale della Conciliazione and St. Peter's Basilica.

Entry includes a finisher's medal and a technical t-shirt. For the 2027 race, the Worldwide Cancer Research charity place had a registration fee of £49 and a minimum sponsorship of £700.

History of Rome Marathon
The Rome Marathon began in the early 1980s but struggled to draw crowds, and it was canceled between 1992 and 1994. A new organizing committee revived it in 1995, when Belayneh Tadesse of Ethiopia won in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 13 seconds. On January 1, 2000, Pope John Paul II gave the starting signal in St. Peter's Square.
