It is Easy to use SlickTrip in ChatGPT to watch flight fares
You can add SlickTrip to ChatGPT as a plugin, then search fares and start a fare watch without leaving your conversation. You can look at fares without a SlickTrip account. To have SlickTrip keep watching after you close the chat, you sign in with a free account.
This guide follows the ChatGPT setup from start to finish. If you use Claude, see How to use SlickTrip in Claude to watch flight fares.
The screenshots were captured on October 12, 2026, in ChatGPT on the web in a desktop browser. Prices shown are examples from that session, not current offers, and ChatGPT’s labels and layouts may change.
Before you start
ChatGPT calls these add-ons apps or plugins, depending on your account. OpenAI says availability can vary by plan, region, workspace, selected model, and product surface, so look under Apps or Plugins in Settings, whichever your account shows (OpenAI troubleshooting guide). OpenAI also notes that on Free and Go accounts you can find plugins in the directory, but plugin extensions are not available on those plans.
For alerts, you also need a free SlickTrip account. You can create it during setup, as shown below.
Find SlickTrip in the plugin directory
In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Plugins. Select Browse directory.

Start from Plugins in ChatGPT Settings and open the directory.
Search for SlickTrip. The listing appears as “SlickTrip LLC · Track flight and hotel prices.”

Search the directory to find the SlickTrip plugin.
Install the plugin
Open the listing and select Install plugin. The listing shows three example prompts, such as “Tell me when New York to Tokyo drops under $700 this winter.”

The SlickTrip listing, with example prompts and the Install plugin button.
Further down, the listing describes what SlickTrip does and who publishes it. It says SlickTrip “watches flight, hotel and seat prices and tells you when they move,” that searching works without an account, and that alerts need a free SlickTrip login. The developer is listed as SlickTrip LLC.

Check the description and developer details before you connect.
Choose how to connect
After you select “Install plugin”, ChatGPT shows a Connect SlickTrip window. It explains what information ChatGPT may share with the plugin and offers two choices: Sign in with SlickTrip or Use without an account.

You can sign in now or start without an account and sign in later.
Read the data-sharing notes before you choose. If you only want to look at fares for now, Use without an account is enough. This walkthrough starts that way and signs in later, when a watch needs an account.
Start a chat with SlickTrip
When the plugin is installed, its page shows Manage and Try in chat. Select Try in chat to open a new conversation.

Try in chat opens a conversation with SlickTrip already selected.
ChatGPT fills in one of SlickTrip’s example prompts for you. Send it as is, or replace it with your own trip.

The example prompt arrives already filled in. You can edit it before you send it.
Keep the SlickTrip tag at the start of your message. In this walkthrough, a travel question that didn’t name SlickTrip got an answer from general web sources instead of SlickTrip, even with the plugin installed.
Look at fares on a price calendar
You can compare fares before you sign in. For example:
SlickTrip tell me the fares for NY to Tokyo from December 2026 to Feb 2027

Ask for a route and a range of months to get a fare calendar.
SlickTrip answered with a summary by month and a Price calendar. In this example, the lowest fare it found was $945, for January 18 to 25, 2027. The calendar shows two months at a time and marks the cheapest and typical fares.

The price calendar shows fares by departure date, two months at a time.
You can expand the calendar to full screen. There you can pick a trip, choose See fares for these dates, open a day on SlickTrip, or select Watch these dates.

The expanded calendar lets you select dates and move straight to a watch.
SlickTrip describes these as “fare-calendar results, not yet verified individual bookable itineraries,” and adds, “Prices can change.” Treat the calendar as a guide to when to travel, then check the exact itinerary before you book.
Set up a fare watch
To have SlickTrip watch a route for you, ask for it. Sending the example prompt “Tell me when New York to Tokyo drops under $700 this winter” produced a proposed watch with the details spelled out:
- Departure airports: JFK, EWR, LGA
- Destination: all Tokyo airports
- Travel dates: December 2026 to February 2027
- Round trip, economy, 3 to 10 nights
- Price target: under $700, up to one stop, price per person

SlickTrip shows the watch it plans to create, so you can check each setting first.
Review each line. Select Change settings if anything is wrong, or Yes, create the alert if it matches your plans.
Sign in so the watch can run
If you started without an account, ChatGPT now says “ChatGPT needs more SlickTrip access.” Select Update access. If you select Not now, the alert is not created.

A watch needs a SlickTrip account, so ChatGPT asks for more access.
ChatGPT opens the Connect SlickTrip window again. Select Continue to SlickTrip.

Continue to SlickTrip to sign in or create your account.
On the SlickTrip screen, choose Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, or Continue with email. The screen says any of these creates your free SlickTrip account, with no card needed, and returns you to ChatGPT.

Sign in or create a free SlickTrip account.
Back in ChatGPT, SlickTrip created the watch. The chat showed a card titled “New York to Tokyo this winter,” followed by “Your SlickTrip price watch is active!”

After you sign in, SlickTrip creates the watch you approved.
The confirmation repeats the travel months, airports, trip length, stops, and notification settings. Here, email alerts were on and text alerts were off. Check yours, and change them in your SlickTrip account if needed.

Confirm the watch details and how you will be alerted.
Check your watch on slicktrip.com
To find your watch later, sign in at slicktrip.com with the same account and open Saved Trips. A flexible watch like this one appears under Bucket Lists. Here it showed “New York to Tokyo this winter · Japan” with a current price.

Your watch appears in Saved Trips on slicktrip.com, under Bucket Lists.
If you have more than one SlickTrip account, check that you are signed in with the one you used in ChatGPT. Watches belong to the account that created them.
Manage the plugin
To review or change the connection, open Settings, select Apps or Plugins, and choose SlickTrip (OpenAI troubleshooting guide). The plugin’s page also has a Manage button. Disconnecting ChatGPT from SlickTrip is separate from stopping a watch; manage your watches on slicktrip.com.
Keep the booking decision in your hands
A fare watch is not a ticket purchase. SlickTrip’s listing says booking happens on the airline’s or hotel seller’s own site. When an alert arrives, check the itinerary, total price, baggage, fare rules, and seller before you pay.

Open ChatGPT, find SlickTrip under Plugins, and set a watch for your next trip.
