October features notable events on both ends of the MAD–JFK route. In Madrid, Spain’s National Day on October 12 can affect domestic travel and increase airport traffic. In New York, October sees major gatherings such as New York Comic Con, Open House New York, and lively Halloween parades and city-wide activities. For fall foliage excursions, plan side trips to New England or the Hudson Valley after arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
