Punta Tombo, Chubut · Every September to December
Magellanic penguins return to Punta Tombo
Half a million penguins walk back to the same burrows on a Patagonian beach, and you walk among them.
On now until December 31
What happens when you set this watch
We track every fare from your airport into Trelew or Puerto Madryn for September 15 to December 31, 2026, round trips of 3 to 6 nights, across every airline. The moment one drops, you get one email with the dates, the price and a link to book. Free, and you can stop any time.
Know before you go
- Stay a metre from the birds; they bite and the rangers are strict.
- Combine with the Welsh tea houses of Gaiman on the way back.
- Trelew's airport is about two hours from the reserve by road; Puerto Madryn is roughly three hours, and tours run from both.
