Know before you go
- Buy the tin of twelve peeled seedless grapes sold in every supermarket; fresh ones with seeds are a choking hazard at speed.
- The rehearsal on the 30th is the better night for a family; the 31st is standing room and champagne spray.
- Madrid airport is 30 minutes to Sol by metro; on the night the square is fenced and entry is controlled from about nine.
