The Carnaval de Limoux is called the longest carnival in the world and has been going for about 400 years. Masked Fecos and Goudils dance with traditional music from café to café under the medieval arcades of the Place de la République. There is no parade. It is an improvised comedy with rules passed down through generations. It ends with the judgment and burning of His Majesty Carnaval on the Nuit de la Blanquette.
