Aloha Festivals was established in 1946 as Aloha Week by former members of the local Junior Chamber of Commerce. In 2008 organizers decided to hold most events on Oahu because of a lack of funding. No festival was held in 2020, and it resumed in 2021.

Hawaii's September cultural celebration, with a Waikiki block party and a flower-covered parade.
Aloha Festivals is a month of free community events honoring Hawaiian music, dance and history, anchored in Waikiki. The two headline days are the Waikiki Hoolaulea, when Kalakaua Avenue closes for live music, hula and food, and the Floral Parade from Ala Moana to Kapiolani Park. It began in 1946 as Aloha Week. Most events are free, so the cost is the trip itself.
